Solution found anyway: Missing game.dat/ Old file not found: download a no-cd torrent and pull JUST the game.dat file from it, and paste that into your Zero Hour directory. ![]() ![]() I dont know why the game.dat never installed into my directory from the disk, and according to my brothers install on an xp machine (and MY install on a virtually emulated XP machine) neither had the game.dat either. Patch C&C: Generals/Zero Hour with GenPatcher (what this does is fix most currently known issues, including the DirectX 8. Patching it properly to 1.04 though after this causes it to screw up again.īut anyway thats what i did. Pasting that into my Zero Hour folder caused it to worked perfectly, online and off. localized version of The First Decade, the German one, is not compatible with this patch. Strange, cos in Options it reads version 1.0 and the 1.08 upgrade for generals ran fine.īut anyway the point is moot, I went for a new workaround in the time since my last reply and I fetched a no-cd torrent and just pulled the Game.dat file that was present in it (skipped the iso download :) ) Sadly, this is due to the DRM system of the game, SafeDisc, no longer being supported by Windows. They remain the same, month in, month out, until we decide to update our zero-point.
